Sarawak Multimedia Authority (SMA) have implemented 492 initiatives in 2019 focusing on the development of entrepreneurs.

As part of the Sarawak Digital Village Ecosystem initiative, Sarawak Multimedia Authority (SMA) have implemented 492 initiatives in 2019 focusing on the development of entrepreneurs.
There are 200 programs at the five (5) Digital Innovation Hubs (DIHs) that SMA had established in Kuching, Sarikei, Bintulu and Miri benefitting 5,100 participants.
By this year (2020), a total of 14 Innovation Hubs will be operational statewide covering every division.
Moving forward, SMA is in the midst of partnering with various organizations to create Micro Innovation Hubs in strategic rural areas to cater for the development of the rural communities where more impactful programs can be held.
These programs will be tailormade to ensure that they identify and highlight the expertise of the rural communities, and to enhance the local entrepreneurs with suitable digital tools.
Furthermore, SMA will partner with various strategic partners to assist the rural communities with access to online markets.
One key contributor to the Sarawak’s Economy will be the Center for Digital Entrepreneurship setup to facilitate our local entrepreneurs to take off and support their business endeavors.
Promising entrepreneurs, especially from DIHs and micro innovation hubs, will be invited to expand their business globally through the Digital Village, Samajaya.
In order to move e-commerce as a platform to reach local and international markets, SMA has implemented e-commerce platform including e-marketplace for use by targeted community, starting from women entrepreneur in collaboration with Women and Family Department, and to be extended to every community
thereafter.
One Stop Collection Centre are also being developed partnering the Ministry of Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development Sarawak (KWKPK) and the Public Works Department (JKR).
This Centre will provide collection, storage, packaging, sales and marketing services to producers of local products.
